This is an exciting hybrid role based in London heading up our talent, learning and development activities for 2200 employees in the EMEA region, with a particular focus on creating meaningful engaging virtual experiences.
You will be a key member of our HCD leadership team and work with functional business leaders to identify training and development needs aligned with our ambition to foster a welcoming, agile, inclusive and innovative feedback culture. The role reports to the VP HCD EMEA.

The role:
In partnership with business leaders and HRBPs define and drive a cohesive and holistic Learning & Development plan for the region with a particular focus on:
- being an advocate for building digital and future-ready capabilities across the region
- designing and delivering L&D initiatives that support our inclusive culture and business strategy for corporate, manufacturing, supply chain and retail employees
- supporting leaders in running engaging virtual and hybrid working group meetings and learning experiences
- managing a small remote team
To be successful in this role you will be a real change agent and play a key role in driving and leading digital change within Kao and within the Human Resources function.
What you will do:
- in partnership with business leaders and HRBPs identifying skill gaps and training needs
- creating an engaging virtual onboarding and orientation programme for new joiners
- setting up a Year End performance review process aligned with our global focus
- implementing a framework for cross-functional succession planning
- designing and facilitating leadership development initiatives and sourcing relevant external training providers
- helping to curate meaningful e-learning content in our Kao Academy or via LinkedIn learning
- effectively managing external providers, contracts, costs and quality of delivery
- setting up and managing career development programmes for career starters and emerging talent
What you will need:
- A genuine passion to support people’s learning and development ambitions
- Experience in designing and effectively executing motivating Learning and Development programmes, especially for a remote or hybrid working audience using engaging virtual and e-learning tools
- Curiosity and drive to challenge the status quo and help us simplify and digitalize processes
- Energy and patience to impact positive cultural change
- Ability to positively engage stakeholders, HRBPs and team members with a clear focus on inclusion to engage people of different cultures, age groups and backgrounds and a high number of employees whose first language is not English
- A clear focus on ROI and measures of success
- Ability to influence, coach and mentor
- Strong organizational skills and high accuracy with numbers
- Sound digital skills (i.e. MS Teams, Microsoft Office 365)
- Knowledge of apprenticeship or early career starter programmes desirable
- An interest in working in a friendly and supportive multi-national EMEA team partnering closely with our HR Business Partners and Centres of Excellence
- Self-motivation, a business and growth mind-set and influencing skills with an analytical and organized approach
- Fluent English. Other European languages, especially German and/ or Dutch desirable but not essential
- Resilience and a hands on approach
- A good sense of humour
