We are a growing company seeking a reliable, experienced, full-time, payroll professional position who will ensure accurate processing and recording of company payrolls, provide timely and accurate financial information, and manage all cycles relating to payroll. The Payroll Specialist will join a team to assist in processing payroll under multi-company and multi-state payrolls to support our workforce of 1,500, which is expected to grow to 2,500.
Payroll Specialist Responsibilities may include:
· Managing portions of the payroll process that include importing, proofing, editing, processing, and transmitting all payroll wages, deductions, reimbursements, bonuses, commissions, and manual payments consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws. This is a function shared with a payroll team.
· Work with Payroll Manager to complete accurate and timely processing of pay data and associate maintenance file changes to meet weekly payroll deadlines
· Complete audit of new hire records for accuracy of data specific to pay and taxes
· Collect banking information for direct deposit setup and initiate deposits
· Oversee historical edit process/payout for unreported hours
· Manage Wage Garnishment process in conjunction with 3rd party vendor (ADP)
· Assist with the completion of incoming verifications of employment, wage requests, Medical Support Notices, subpoenas for pay records, etc.
· Pull reports from the 401(k) provider and process in ADP
· Prepare PTO accruals, insurance deduction changes and other associate personnel or pay changes for import into the payroll system
· Maintain backup folders of weekly pay data and associate file changes for each company
· Variety of other functions – all shared across 4 roles with training for fully cross functional team
· Any other payroll duties as determined by Payroll Manager
Skills:
· Payroll processing experience required. A minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing required.
· Experience with payroll processing systems required; ADP Enterprise and E-time systems preferred
· Excellent analytic and critical thinking skills and high attention to detail
· Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices
· Strong knowledge of legislation and regulations of the payroll field
· Demonstrated organizational and mathematical skills
· Associate’s degree in Business or other related field a plus
· Proficiency with Excel
