Kachemak Medical Group Hiring for Medical Receptionist / Front Office at Homer, AK Full Time

Growing family medicine practice is looking for a full-time Medical Receptionist to become an integral part of the patient care team and assist the healthcare providers in delivering quality medical care in an ambulatory setting with an emphasis on professionalism and affordability for our patients.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Check in the patient for their visit.
• Obtain and record vital signs.
• Obtain and record a brief history or reason for visit.
• Have access to the patient’s medical history and assist the provider in documenting clinic visits, entering orders, referrals, and prescription refills as directed by the healthcare provider.
• Perform basic clinic procedures such as, phlebotomy, injections, CLIA waived testing, etc.
• Process and document patient telephone calls and messages.
• Assist the healthcare provider with patient education.
• Maintain and clean exam rooms.
• Maintain and clean medical supplies and instruments.
• Process and document patient paperwork including, but not limited to, patient letters, prior authorization requests, provider generated documents, and any other paperwork relevant to patient care or as required by regulatory agencies or insurances.
• Assist in facilitating coordination of care.
• Other duties as required

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum two years’ experience in medical reception position or similar office setting
• Medical Assistant certification preferred
• Prior scheduling experience
• Familiarity with medical and insurance terminology
• Experience collecting customer fees
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, Internet

Work Schedule: 10-hour shift
