K & L Freight Management Hiring for Staff Accountant Job at Saint Charles, IL Full Time

The Staff Accountant is responsible for creating accurate and timely financial records for K-Company family of businesses.

Primary Responsibilities

· Responsible for monthly bank, account, and intercompany reconciliations for K-Company family of businesses.

· Assist in preparing monthly financial reporting.

· Prepare journal entries and monthly account analysis.

· Responsible for managing collections process and develop solutions to improve collections and Aged Receivables.

· Ensure accurate accounting GL and receivable records.

· Provide support and guidance to Accounts Receivable functions.

· Responsible for creation of banking transactions and check runs.

· Manage expense tracking and proactively identify opportunities for cost reductions.

· Maintain fixed asset and associated depreciation schedules including tracking the cost of newly-acquired and existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, and accounting for the disposition of assets.

· Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and procedures.

· Additional duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

· Prefer 3-5 years of applicable experience in a fast-paced, deadline driven professionally run accounting environment.

· Ability to work in a team environment while delivering independent results.

· Strong detail orientation and analytical skills.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Superior ability to prioritize, multitask and problem solve.

· Advanced Excel skills – pivot tables, vlookup, sumifs, data organization etc.

· Bachelor’s degree with major in accounting.

· Experience with McLeod TMS a plus.
