Justice Magic is an academy that uniquely prepares young people in Vietnam for success at university through the provision of advanced critical thinking and other academic training, in addition to life skill and well being sessions. The courses will equip them with essential skills for their personal development and further success in their studies and future careers.

Now, we are looking for Mentors to join our education institution to support directly our students prior to leaving Vietnam and during their 1styear overseas in order to transition them successfully from high school or university to studying and living in the US, Canada, UK, Australia etc .

Job Description

• Provide a model for a healthy, open-minded relationship through clear communication and setting appropriate boundaries & standards
• Encourage and empower mentees for their academic & life success
• Be a ‘go to’ person for the student to support their day to day living in a foreign country
• Be a link to other supportive services in the overseas country, if needed
• Help identify and correct gaps in relevant skills and knowledge
• Define & support the student to achieve academic goals
• Provide additional appropriate support services, as required
• Be an active listener and offer support and encouragement when appropriate.
• Provides frank, honest, and constructive feedback
• Periodically report a student’s progress to the Head of the team, as required
• Collaborate effectively with the student’s parents and JM appropriate personnel to find solutions if needed
• Raise immediately an alarm if the student is not responding, for whatever reason, to input

Requirements

Qualifiactaions and Experience

• Coaching and/or teaching qualifications at degree level
• Police clearance certificate from current country of operation (this may be applied for once successful if not obtained already)
• Demonstrable mentoring experience
• Knowledge of successful mentoring techniques
• Exceptionally knowledgeable about our institute’s basic concepts and structures and how to support the student to gain the most from the experience
• Excellent orienting abilities
• Ability to detect emotional, medical, and other problems

• Ability to take supervision and constructive feedback positively
• Ability to enagage, motivate and empower students
• Solution focused at all times

Technical Requirements

• Desktop computer or a laptop with a webcam & stable internet connection for the online class via Teams Meeting/ Zoom
• It is recommended that teachers use headsets, as built-in microphones and speakers do not provide enough quality for smooth communication with students.

Working time: Online, self-managed to provide feedbacks weekly as required.

Remuneration: Indicative hourly rate from $30@/hour – $40@/hour
