The purpose of the role is to lead the Primary Training Team in the development and delivery of its software and CPD offering. You will work closely with your team, other teams within the Training, Development & Consultancy Department, the Effective Education Division and the whole of Juniper Education to ensure we continually meet our customers’ ever changing requirements.
The role will involve training school staff and will require expertise in using the primary proposition software as well as other technologies and a clear understanding of how to help schools with their improvement, data analysis, curriculum design and other areas as appropriate.
By having a deep understanding of a customer’s training requirements, you will contribute to Juniper’s business aims of;
· Increasing ARR and ARPU for the primary sector
· Maximising retention of the primary customer base
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
· Leading and managing the Primary Training Team, giving clear direction to ensure that the team meet the developing needs of our customers
· Training school staff, leaders and MAT members in the use of software across the primary proposition
· Providing bespoke training and consultancy across the software and wider school improvement offering
· In collaboration with other team members develop and create new training content and other offerings to support our customer’s needs
· Have a clear view of the relevant requirements of the Ofsted framework and be able to make judgements as to the effectiveness of schools particularly in the area of Assessment for Learning, target setting, school improvement planning, school outcomes, curriculum, MIS and provision
· Contribute to the development of policy within Juniper generally and in particular to create effective systems and software for supporting school improvement
· Provide an informed perspective on issues relating to teaching, learning, curricular balance, assessment and the recording and reporting of achievement, governance and self-evaluation within a designated area or aspect of the curriculum
· Contribute to school/institution self-evaluation processes through departmental, curriculum area or aspect reviews
· To contribute to Juniper revenue generation targets, as directed, through its programmes of CPD, consultancy, and to contribute positively to the marketing and selling services
Key attributes and competences
· A degree or equivalent
· Qualified teacher status
· Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to train in an effective and engaging manner
· Recent completion of professional development and a commitment to continuing professional development
· Professional qualifications such as Ofsted training are desirable
· Significant successful leadership and management experience in a large and complex organisation, including the motivation of people to meet agreed targets and of quality ensuring their work
· Significant successful leadership and management experience in an organisation during periods of significant change
· Successful experience in leading and contributing to school improvement initiatives
· Successful experience in leading work on curriculum development with proof of the ability to provide practical solutions to curriculum issues within schools
· Successful experience in developing effective school policies and relating these to practice or in assisting schools in doing so
· Successful experience in leading work on improving the quality of teaching and learning leading to higher achievement
· Successful experience of working with a diverse customer base and of designing solutions to meet changing customer needs, and of working in a consultative style within a range of contexts
· Successful participation in curriculum projects, initiatives, research and development
· A high level of ICT skills
· Successful experience in leading or contributing to aspects of school review or school self-review
· Successful experience in leading work on improving the quality of leadership, provision and learning and teaching in schools in challenging circumstances
· Thorough knowledge of assessment software for schools and how it can best be used
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £48,000.00 per year
