Jubilee School Hiring for Teacher for elementary school Job at Philadelphia, PA Full Time

Jubilee has an opening for an experienced teacher who loves teaching, respects the voices and ideas of students, and is willing to learn with and from their students in a project-based environment which focuses on the arts and social justice. Classes are small; there are 10 to 12 students per class. Jubilee students accomplish great things: they are writing their own history textbook, have organized campaigns against gun violence and police brutality, have presented their children’s campaign at a United Nations Conference on Small Arms, and have written, illustrated and published a book about the history of Haiti. The atmosphere at Jubilee is collaborative, creative and celebratory.

Because our tuition is meant to be affordable to our West Philadelphia community, we are not in a position to pay a competitive salary. However, for teachers who are certified, Title I pays $37 per hour for tutoring at Jubilee, which helps to fill the gap. There are also opportunities to teach in our after-school and summer programs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30,000.00 per year
