LOGISTICS MANAGER

SUMMARY :

• Provides strategic / tactical direction regarding the management of the materials team
• Execute strategies and direction to ensure project objectives are met on time
• Develops the function’s budgets, key imperatives, and strategic plans
• Oversee and direct the Logistics, transportation Planning functions for scheduling, inventory, capacity planning and shipping and receiving activities

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Manage 2 sites with a team of logistics planners, supervisors and shipping and receiving associates in a fast-paced plastics injection and blow-molding environment
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to establish aggressive cost estimates for materials within development projects that allow profitable business.
• Oversee and manage the Schedule using Oracle and MS Excel
• Develop, Implement, and improve the planning process
• Coach, train, and mentor the supply chain planning team
• Develop and complete standard operating procedures for planning team
• Manage plant capacity load in the most efficient manner to maximize plant revenues.
• Work closely with internal and external customers to ensure that product specifications and customers’ needs are met.
• Manage the planning activity and plan resultant raw material requirements and communicate raw material requirements to our vendors.

Requirements :

• BA / BS is required, ideally in Supply Chain, Engineering, Statistics, Operations Management, Economics, Business, Logistics, or related majors or an equivalent of 5-7+ years of supply chain relevant experience
• Masters, MBA, APICS / CPM, CPIM, Six-sigma or related supply chain certifications are a plus
• 3-5+ years of through logistics / distribution / transportationknowledge specifically withplanning, capacity planning, inventory, BOMsand related supply chain activities
• 1+ years of leadership experience, managing, building, training, and developing a high-performing supply chain team
• Experience with project management / six-sigma / lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies is preferred
• MUST HAVE STRONG DATA ANALYTICS SKILLS
• Intermediate experience with ERP and MS Excel is required, prefer SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, JD Edwards, MS Access. Any ERP or systems upgrades is a plus
• Must be Pro-active, excellent communication skills, analytical, detail orientated, able to multi-task, self-directed, self-motivated, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
