DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre- defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions. Perform on-call production support, including response, resolution and analysis of production failures, routine production deployment, and infrastructure support and management. Mentor junior team members in software development procedures and development of technical skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, or related occupation.

Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Full stack development; Javascript or typescript; modern UI frameworks such as React or Angular; Cloud Native software; cloud services such as AWS or OpenShift; Java; java enterprise edition; common java tooling such as maven, spring, or Apache Tomcat; ORMs such as Hibernate; unit testing for with modern frameworks for UI and Backend such as Jasmine, Junit, or TestNg; microservice oriented architecture; API design and development, including REST and event driven APIs; event driven technology such as RabbitMQ and active-mq; CI/CD; tooling such as Jenkins; SQL databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL; Integration, performance, and end to end testing; and access management, including OAuth integration.

Salary: $169,000 – $200,000 per year.
