Team Summary:

The Tax Services team is part of Investor Services and plays an active role in supporting J.P. Morgan’s Securities Services business and clients with respect to their tax reporting operations. Clients include large industry superannuation funds and managed investment trusts based in Australia. The firm’s Securities Services business has experienced significant growth recently due to a number of major wins and is now Australia’s largest by Assets Under Custody.

Role Summary:

The Tax Manager will be responsible for the provision of tax services to both internal and external clients, including managing client’s tax queries and deliverables. The position requires strong analytical and problem solving skills. As Tax Manager you will be required to work together with others in the Tax Services team and others within the organisation to ensure the delivery of our products and services are of high quality. You will also be required to provide support on a broad range of tax related projects and new product development.

Key Accountabilities / Major Responsibilities:

• Deliver a full range of tax services and reporting to internal and external client, including review of supplementary tax reporting.
• Liaise with clients on their tax reporting requirements and tax queries
• Build and maintain internal and external client relationships, acting as a subject matter expert for tax related queries
• Provide support on specific projects relating to clients, process improvements and product development
• Identify and mitigate operational risks associated with tax reporting and processes
• Share knowledge and actively develop self and others in the team

Experience/Qualifications Required:

• A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Accounting/Finance/Law), with CPA/CA qualification or Masters of Tax desirable
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in tax, preferably gained in a custody, professional accounting or financial services environment
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
