Junior Contract Specialist Duties and Responsibilities:

• As the Junior Contract Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for managing all contracts that company employees and employer is working on as a prime contractor or as a subcontractor. The contract specialist must have and be very knowledgeable about the details and potential benefits of all contracts and must be able to fulfill the following duties and responsibilities but not limited to:

Education Requirements: BA in Business Management or equal government contract manager experience

• Craft, evaluate, negotiate, and execute a wide variety of different contracts covering a range of transactions.
• Create customer invoices and submit them to various government systems i.e., WAWF, IPP, etc.
• Must be familiar with the government FAR, DFAR, and various government contracting rules and regulations.
• Must be familiar with the SCA, WD, and various DOL rules, laws, and regulations.
• Must be able to understand and interpret a solicitation, PWS, and other related government documents/ requirements.
• Create and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers and serve as the singular point of contact for matters concerning contracts on a regular basis.
• Maintain records for correspondence and documentation in relation to established contracts and those in progress.
• Must possess excellent time management and organization skills.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Communicate and present information to stakeholders about all contract-related matters.
• Monitor contracts and move forward with close-out, extension, or renewal according to what’s best for the company.
• Solve any contract-related problems that may arise with other parties and internally with the company itself.
• Excellent negotiating skills and entering agreements.
• Excellent knowledge of the details and potential benefits of any contract’s requirements and laws.
• Be the leading advocate against waste and inefficiency in government and company spending.
• Exhibit excellent professional skills in administering and negotiating contracts, preparing requests for proposals (RFPs), and supervising fulfillment of contract terms and conditions according to federal policies, regulations, and legislation.
• Draw upon advanced training to make sound business decisions when analyzing, preparing, and executing government contracts.
• Strong ability to exercise independent judgment to assess current procedures and develop new policies and processes.
• Strong ability to interface with contract executives, support staff and business unit managers, customer and supplier law departments, senior management, and outside counsel.
• Performed other duties as required.
• Must possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to work well with others.
