Job Title: Special Education Teacher

In the role of Special Education Teacher, you will work collaboratively with instructional staff and leadership to cultivate and monitor the deliverance of a high-quality education for each and every student.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for each student assigned to the case load.
• Responsible for assessing the functioning level of each student and for developing and implementing goals and objectives
• Responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of the program and participating in the students’ interdisciplinary IEP team meeting
• Maintain and utilize adaptive/assistive equipment and devices
• Prepare and implement daily written lessons plans
• Maintain a positive, safe, healthy and controlled learning environment; ensure supervision of all assigned students
• Direct activities of instructional aides and assure implementation of established instructional procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
• Pursuing or current possession of a current Professional Certificate in Special Education
• Experience in developing and implementing special education programs and classroom management for students with developmental disabilities or related experience is preferred
• Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication

Terms of Employment

$40,000-$48,000 full-time salary, benefits, and performance pay according to the salary and benefits policy. Job is exempt from overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Excellent Time-Off Incentive.
