We are a multi-disciplinary team of software engineers, electrical engineers, computational scientists, and domain experts that seeks to improve maritime electromagnetic systems through innovation, research, development, and evaluation of software applications and tools. As a Real-Time Software Architect, you will…

• Provide direction on the design and implementation of maritime algorithmic prototypes on high-performance architectures such as field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), or similar hardware.
• Work with algorithm developers, engineers, and other domain experts to understand the physics, functionality, and application of existing maritime algorithmic solutions.
• Rearchitect existing high-performance algorithmic solutions to run on high-performance architectures and define interfaces to integrate these solutions into larger operational systems.
• Assist embedded software developers by debugging high-performance algorithm designs and solutions.
• Document design, development, and performance tests and present information to review teams.
• Expand knowledge in signal processing, radar, communications, and electromagnetic systems.
• Occasionally, travel to attend collaboration meetings and support integration and test events

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you…

• Possess a BS in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, or other related fields.
• Have relevant experience in MATLAB, Python, or C/C++.
• Are familiar with VHDL or Verilog programming languages.
• Have experience in scripting, parallel programming, and optimization of large-scale code.
• Have experience debugging and testing complex systems, especially in C/C++.
• Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Are willing and able to work in classified laboratories.
• Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
• Can demonstrate that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. You’ll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you…

• Possess an MS in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, or other related fields.
• Have a deep understanding of configuring and debugging FPGAs or similar hardware, and demonstrated ability using VHDL in Xilinx.
• Have experience transitioning mathematical or physics-based MATLAB algorithms to high-performance software applications.
• Have experience translating requirements into system architecture and software designs, and presenting results to a large team.
• Are accustom to working independently in small teams and capable of serving as a domain expert.
• Possess domain knowledge in signal processing, radar, communications, software-defined radio, machine learning, or systems and sensors used by the U.S. military and intelligence community.
• Have an active Secret or higher-level security clearance
