Assistant Accountant

This project is a John Holland and CPB Contractors joint venture delivering the $3.9bn Rozelle Interchange and Western Harbour Tunnel Enabling Works project. The Rozelle Interchange is the final stage of WestConnex. It is a new underground motorway interchange which provides connectivity to the M4-M5 Link Tunnels and the City West Link, and an underground bypass of Victoria Road between Iron Cove Bridge and Anzac Bridge. The Rozelle Interchange also provides a connection to the future Western Harbour Tunnel.

The role

This is a varied and exciting role where you will gain exposure to all areas of Finance and Site Administration within the organisation utilising your knowledge and skills into practical experience. You will have a keen interest in finance and accounting and will have the opportunity to own the following functions:

• general ledger management,
• bank and general ledger account reconciliations,
• accounts payable and receivable and debt management.
• document control, record management and general data entry
• end of month processes including preparing journals and accruals
• account and vendor reconciliations

About you:

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• have a genuine interest in gaining practical experience and developing your career
• ability to analyse and problem solve with a solution focus.
• preferred in Microsoft word and excel
• ability to build relationships and rapport with people at all levels
• strong verbal and written communication skills
