Our client, a venture capital firm near Baltimore is seeking a senior fund accounting analyst. This senior accounting analyst will join a wonderful team and have direct exposure to the CFO/Controller and various leaders of their venture capital operation. This is an exciting, fast paced, ambitious environment and the chance to oversee general accounting operations, fund accounting, performance analysis and support on financial transactions.

Responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful Senior accounting analyst combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. The ideal candidate has experience collaborating and/or managing a team of accountants and junior accountants.

Responsibilities:

• Month-end close, financial statement preparation, fund accounting review, and analysis
• Budgeting/forecasting, portfolio company performance analysis, variance analysis, and ad hoc executive reporting
• Investor relations, capital calls
• Guide automation, analytics, upgrade ERP, and other special projects

Skills

• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like NetSuite and QuickBooks
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
• BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant

• Relevant certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) will be preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
