Your Responsibilities
As a Staff Materials Engineer for Deere & Company World Headquarters located in Waterloo, IA, you will be:
- Serve as the Enterprise expert for advance composites, sustainability, and electrification/power systems for plastics materials engineering issues.
- Develop and manage the performance of tests and/or evaluation procedures pertaining to new, sustainable materials/process selection, specifications and testing.
- Serve as an advisor to product engineering, manufacturing and supply management on new and emerging materials and processes. Guide and direct supply management in technical issues.
- Evaluate new and advanced materials and processes and set Unit and Division technology strategies for their use.

What Skills You Need
- 6 or more years of experience in plastics materials, advance composites, and design in industrial products.
- Comprehensive experience in plastics and composite materials, processes, manufacturing, tooling, design, analysis and testing.
- Experience with application engineering of plastics/composites in product design of agricultural, industrial, or mobile equipment.
- Experience with materials engineering integration to engineering mechanics.
- Experience with drawing and schematic interpretation, product models, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Experience conducting material testing and evaluation of materials for design, testing, simulation, and quality failure analysis.
- Experienced with ISCC sustainability certification system and its integration.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 30%, both domestically and internationally

Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Degree in Plastics Engineering, Composites Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and/or recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in Plastics Manufacturing Design discipline or equivalent experience – University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
