We’re looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to help expand and innovate our current infrastructure as well as support our internal customer base of ~1000 employees. Under the direction of the Manager Information Technology, this position performs a variety of technical tasks in the areas of applications, systems, and networks. It also provides direct technical assistance and support to Employ staff for network, hardware, and software issues.

This is a highly collaborative position that works closely with senior leaders, key stakeholders, and team members across the Employ enterprise. The individual will remain abreast of current technology trends and provide technology thought leadership. Additionally, this role works with the IT Management team to determine, track, and manage the IT budget.

What You Will Do:

• All aspects of planning, configuring, deploying, supporting, and decommissioning systems, applications, and networks
• Develop and maintains all systems, applications, security, and network configurations
• Support and manage integration with other Enterprise software utilized by the organization
• Recommend upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment
• Provide technical support and guidance to users
• Responsibility for the analysis of hardware and software in a distributed networking environment utilizing accepted network management and monitoring software and systems
• Deal with moderate to advanced levels of technical systems and assists in achieving cost effective objectives through state-of-the-art technologies
• Prepare project documentation and procedures
• Respond to user requests for service, troubleshoot problems and help develop solutions
• Support PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software
• Perform minor repairs to equipment and arrange for other servicing needs
• Identify and system issues to vendors. Monitor and test resolution of those issues sent to vendors
• Monitor antivirus software and updates and repair computers infected with spyware, adware and/or viruses
• Monitor backup systems and procedures to ensure data security
• Record activities, solutions, and other responses to request for service
• Assist in maintaining inventory records and documentation for equipment
• Contribute to Employ IT technical documentation and participate in policy, procedure, and standards development
• Consult with vendors, perform research, and evaluate products to assist in the selection and purchase of equipment and installation or upgrade of systems
• Assist users in determining appropriate software solutions to meet needs
• Develop and provide user training for basic hardware and software use
• Provide backup technical support for network including router, firewall, and wireless access points
• Maintain open communication and a positive working relationship with staff
• Perform other technical duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 5-8 years of experience being responsible for Information Technology infrastructure systems administration in a SaaS software company
• 5-8 years of experience administrating a Microsoft 365 environment and applications
• 3+ years of systems administration experience of Windows operating systems, including managing Active Directory and Domain Controllers
• 3+ years of relevant cloud [SaaS] or on-premises system administration experience with Windows and Mac devices
• Must have 3+ years in Microsoft 365 management, development and/or design
• Experience as a network administrator with a deep knowledge of routing, firewalls, VPNs and security devices
• Experience supporting users, laptops and mobile devices who are remotely distributed
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft 365, G-Suite, iOS, macOS, and Windows OS
• Experience in Microsoft Azure technologies and products
• Strong familiarity with AWS products
• Experience evaluating, implementing, and administering cloud-based tools and processes for IT infrastructure security and operations
• Security technology acumen and experience required including firewall, IDS/IPS, cyber-attack tools and defenses, encryption, certificate authority, web filtering, identity and access management, MFA, etc.
• Experience using cloud identity and access management tools, preferably Okta
• Experience administering Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools
• Proficient in Microsoft InTune software administration
• Experience scripting with Python, PowerShell, VBScript or Bash

Preferred:

• Professional certifications such as MCP, MCSE, Network+, Security+ strongly preferred
• Understanding and practical experience with ITIL Principles and processes
• Experience using an MDM
• Familiarity with Slack and Zoom video conferencing and application processes
