Job Details

Job Objective :

The Logistics Coordinator performs general office and Materials coordination and assists with day-to-day operations. Coordinates various office support services, including document control, shipping, purchasing, and facilities management.

May participate in interdepartmental projects and coordinate with other departments. Requires self-direction, tact, and diplomacy in a clear, cooperative, and professional manner and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.

Job Responsibilities :

• Provide liaison support between suppliers, production, procurement, and logistics to ensure on-time delivery of materials.
• Maintain inventory control of all site materials and supplies.
• Coordinate customer communication regarding shipments with the customer service staff.
• Primary point of contact for FEDEX and UPS.
• Coordinate import / export logistics with international locations.
• Coordinate drop shipments with Vendors.
• Process invoices and PO receipts in coordination with the Finance Department.
• Oversee Shipping and Receiving for all incoming and outgoing shipments. Receives goods against open purchase orders in MRP / ERP.
• Coordinate IATA and DOT training for staff.
• Provide new employee training for all required policies and procedures.
• Maintain on-site and off-site warehouse facilities.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain proper housekeeping. Be familiar with OSHA standards, policies and procedures.
• Backup support for Shipping and Receiving Coordinator.
• Maintain the inventory and coordinate the purchase of supplies for the office.
• Set up and maintain employee building access.
• Manage vendor services specific for the office and maintain facility maintenance and records.
• Maintain up-to-date records of inspections (i.e. fire / building).
• Update and maintain active procedures, work instructions, and forms that meet the requirements of the Quality Management System.
• As a backup, set up internal / customer meetings including meal orders.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

Direct- responsibility for the KC Shipping and Receiving Coordinator.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

• High School diploma and a minimum of 5 years’ experience coordinating material logistics functions is desired. Associate degree is a plus.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Visio and MRP software for bills of materials.

• Self-starter, able to recognize problems and discern solutions without being asked.
• Superior communication skills; must be able to communicate with all levels of a business organization.
• Knowledge of common supply chain & material handling equipment, i.e., fork truck, two-wheelers, pallet jack.
• Certified forklift operator or able to be trained to perform this task.
• Experience with UPS / FEDEX online software is desirable.
• Ability to obtain IATA certification for Dangerous Goods and 49 CFR required.
• Experience with document control, Quality Assurance, and / or ISO9000 / ISO13485 administration is desired.
