What this opportunity involves:
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the financial accounting responsibilities on behalf of the client and driving improvements and efficiencies in business processes and reporting, meeting high standards of service within contract obligations and JLL’s policy, as well as accounting, legal and requirements.
This role is required in Sydney.
Pay range for this role is $115,000 to $125,000 (package, inclusive of superannuation) plus bonus.
Key accountabilities:
Perform client specific financial reporting, including monthly reports, and budget and forecasts. Prepare and present monthly management accounts and reports, of actual against budget with appropriate detailed variance analysis
Perform analytical and reporting trends where necessary to support reporting requirements as per the contract
Develop, update, implement and maintain the procedures, processes and management systems required to ensure astute financial management of the Services
Performing funding requests for rent and property expenditure as required and ensure payments for property expenditure are performed
Monthly accruals for rent and property expenditure, and posting of journals into the accounting system
Oversee, co-ordinate and support the activities and development of the finance and financial support staff
Management and administration of all financial transactions associated with leases
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including the AP team, property managers, lease administration, facilities management, and client representatives
Support accounts payable and receivable functions, including billing, reconciliation of lease payments, outgoings charges, monitoring of key dates, calculation of rent escalations and tracking of key lease terms as it pertains to finance
Supporting the lease administration team for financial advice and queries
Undertake all other accounting and financial management activities as required
The ability to review property systems and processes and ensure internal financial systems correctly reflect all financial transactions pertaining to designated clients
Essential selection criteria:
8 years’ experience in a Financial Accounting role including statutory accounting, month and year end close and reporting, accounts payable and accounts receivable
Experience managing a team (2 to 3 FTE)
University Education is a must with a formal Finance qualification completed (CA, CPA or equivalent)
Excellent communication skills
Sound working knowledge of technical accounting standards/principles and systems
Must be able to ‘own’ responsibilities and processes
The ability to work within tight deadlines and to prioritise workload is essential
Other (desirable) criteria:
Previous experience in a finance related environment or an understanding of the property industry would be advantageous
Experience using JD Edwards or JDE Enterprise E1 system would be desirable but is not essential
Advanced level of competency in Excel, Intermediate in other office products
