What this opportunity involves:
Based on-site with our client in the Melbourne CBD, we are looking for a Finance professional to join us as the Finance Analyst.

You will work on a large government portfolio, providing support in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, month-end reporting, actuals to budget / forecast analysis, including identification of variance drivers for management reporting.

An overview of the role:
Preparation of monthly management accounts and reports, of actuals against budget with appropriate variance analysis

Support in identifying corrective actions to ensure budget compliance

Preparation of annual budget and periodic forecasts

Support the driving of cost savings through analysis and insights

Support the Finance and Governance team in month end processes

Achieve KPI targets as established for the Client account

Various ad hoc client and internal reporting, as required

Tertiary education in Accounting / Finance

Achievement of or studying towards professional qualifications (CPA / CA) will be highly regarded

Over 2 years of experience in budgeting, forecasting or modelling in a complex commercial environment

Solid interpersonal and relationship management skills with demonstrated ability to manage diverse range of stakeholders

Sound written and oral communication skills, and the capacity to deal with ambiguity and complex problems

A good eye for detail

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and complex deliverables on a daily basis, inclusive of month end

Sound proficiency in Excel (competent in pivot table, v-lookup, etc), including sensitivity analysis and scenario modelling
