What this opportunity involves:
We are seeking expressions of interest from Assistant Accountants to join us in Melbourne.

We have 2 positions available. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to work on a large government portfolio.

As the Assistant Accountant, you will support and assist in the delivery of the financial accounting services to the client account, ensuring adherence to controls and governance.

What this role involves:
Assist the Financial Accountant to ensure all month end procedures are adhered to and agreed timeframes are met

Processing and recording of monthly journals

Supporting and assisting in the reporting and governance in relation to IFRS16/AASB16 Lease Accounting on behalf of the client

Assist preparation of Balance Sheet account reconciliations

Assist the Accounts Administrator in the daily processing and delivery of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, including reporting and reconciliations.

Assist the FP&A team in monthly reporting, as required

Assist the FP&A team in delivery of the client budgets and forecasts

Bachelor in Accounting / Finance or equivalent

Achievement of or studying towards professional qualifications (CA or CPA) will be highly regarded

At least 2 years’ of experience in finance operations in real estate, property and/or facilities management industries is desirable but not essential.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and complex deliverables on a daily basis, inclusive of month end

Sound written and oral communication skills

Good interpersonal skills to manage diverse range of stakeholders

Excellent attention to detail

Experience in investigating financial reporting issues and problem-solving
