Finance Assistant

Salary: From £24,000 per annum negotiable depending on experience (when working full time max 35 hours per week)

Contract: Permanent

Location: Hybrid – office based with full flexibility to work from home or at any of our hubs – London, Bristol, Manchester and Harwell.

The team:

In finance we enable Jisc to achieve its strategic objectives by providing prudent and effective financial compliance, management and advice. We are responsible for maintaining Jisc’s solvency and liquidity. This includes all finance and tax matters, reporting, control, budgeting and forecasting at a group, directorate and service levels. We also manage all procurements across Jisc and assist and support the work of colleagues across Jisc.

The finance assistant role reports into the group financial controller with a dotted line to the treasury accountant – trainee. The role sits within the central finance team and supports group statutory reporting and internal financial reporting.

About the role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Finance Assistant to join our Finance team. A positive can-do attitude is essential, with constant attention to detail, whilst always striving to deliver the highest standard of work.

Other responsibilities will include:

• A focus on grant reporting and analysis for funders
• Assisting in the timely preparation of annual statutory accounts for the consolidated Group and the subsidiary companies and providing information to internal and external auditors
• Operation of month end accounting processes including ensuring the month end timetable is adhered to, control account reconciliations and the preparation of key balance sheet figures plus supporting analysis
• Operation of inter-company processes and co-ordination of inter-company invoicing.

We are looking for:

• Some experience of finance administration
• Experience of working in a busy customer orientated office environment
• Experience of finance systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, D365)
• Ambitious individual looking to complete in their accountancy qualification
