Bridges Project Manager

Kent

£45k – 55k (exceptional Pension scheme and other benefits – 4 day working week)

A superb prospect with this thoroughly unique organisation with an impressive history has presented itself recently and offers a really quite exceptional opportunity.

Key to the role is the management of historic bridges and managing a small team.  Your work will comprise of project development/management, contract management, budgets and programmes and other relevant duties.

In more detail you will work with colleagues to develop a prioritised programme of maintenance projects.  This will involve:-

Develop projects for the improvement of the bridges.

Specify the outcomes and standards for packages of work, undertake design and prepare specification and scope documents.

Prepare instructions and procure specialist advice and services, including detailed design, surveys and testing as required.

Prepare records of work, including as-built plans, technical notes and Health and Safety files for all work.

Specify and evaluate data on performance and external factors and use that data to develop solutions for the bridges.

Ensure compliance with company policies standards and procedures for bridge maintenance and compliance with external regulations, including client responsibilities under the CDM regulations.

Working with colleagues to calculate, monitor and proactively reduce carbon, to support the company`s Net Zero Strategy.

You will also be responsible for preparing and placing contracts for works and services and putting in place appropriate systems for the management of the contracts.

Managing the competitive tendering and quotation process as well as preparing and managing budgets and programmes for allocated projects.

We are keen to hear from an experienced Chartered Civil Engineer preferably with extensive experience of engineering project management as well as experience of management and administration of NEC contracts, both seen as essential.  Experience of AutoCAD and the ability to create and edit drawings is seen as key.
