GENERAL SCOPE: Screen and process applicants for employment at Jewish Senior Life, to also include Living Well (JSL Companion Services) to ensure that employment process is followed. Responsible for developing and implementing recruitment strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives. Keys to the success of this position is developing relationships with colleges and community agencies to generate applicant referrals. This is a fast-paced, high volume, priority based position.

QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIFICATIONS/EDUCATION: BS degree with (5) years of experience in the Human Resources or (5-7) years of related experience, preferably in Recruiting. Healthcare a plus.

EXPERIENCE: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and adapt to

changing situations on a daily basis. Strong interpersonal skills, interviewing skills, results driven, utilize good judgement required. Must be able to work independently.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Review all incoming applications, screen applicants and conduct interviews. Must pay close attention to verbal and non-verbal communication from applicants.
• Make job offers; check licensures.
• Process Criminal Background Check (CBC), check references; schedule pre-employment physicals and general orientation.
• Provide two (2) copies of employee welcome letter along with benefit information for new hires/rehires. Prepare pre-employment paperwork for all new employees, I-9 information, CHRC paperwork (if applicable), two (2) copies of job description, license verification.
• Meet with new hires/rehires to explain and assist with the completion of necessary paperwork. Copy required information and place all documentation and necessary paperwork in their personnel folder.
• Ensures proper notification is given to Human Resources Coordinator via the Personnel Transaction of any rehire.
• Develop and implement organization wide recruitment strategy.
• Develop and implement tracking metrics to measure turnover, vacancy statistics and position control.
• Network with colleges and community agencies to develop relationship that lead to potential employment referrals.
• Develop, place, verify and process payments for ads in various media.
• Stays current with all Federal and NYS laws that relate to employment and labor standards.
  • Works with all Directors/Supervisors regarding vacancies to update job postings.
• Monitors transfer requests from internal employees.
• Track and maintain data related to number of interviews, number of candidates being referenced, number of hires and/or rejects, and various computerized reports for position control and turnover reports.
• All other duties as assigned.
