Red Rocks Elementary is a warm and welcoming small school with a tradition of high performance, located in the foothills above the Town of Morrison. Our school is made up of about 270 students in grades K-5. Our student population has maintained a proportion of roughly 15% minority, 10% Free and Reduced lunch, 10% gifted, 5% special education, with about 101% being eager, happy kids who love to play outside. Our students consistently earn the John Irwin Award for Achievement and the school has received the Governor’s Award for Distinguished Growth over various years.

Our school culture supports a “whole-child” outlook, with student enrichment activities including but not limited to: chess, coding, Taekwondo, makerspace, drama, track, peer mentors, student council, and other clubs offered outside of school hours. Min-Mid Annual Salary Range: $50,000.00 – $66,989.54 Effective as of: 08-16-2022

**Annual salary noted above is based on an 8 hour day and full days worked calendar. Any position that is less than a full FTE/8 hours per day or late start will be prorated accordingly.

SUMMARY: Responsible for instructing students in an elementary grades K-6. Creates lesson plans, instructs students on core subjects such as science, literature, and math, and creates a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional preparedness based on the District’s Core Curriculum. Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities.

Create positive educational climate for students to learn in.

Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.

Participate in ongoing training sessions.

Create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year.

Grade papers and perform other administrative duties as needed.

Read and stay abreast of current topics in education.

Utilize various curriculum resources and technologies to enhance student learning.

Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.

Utilize District curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.

Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.

Prepare and distribute parent communications.

Observe and evaluate student’s performance.

Manage student behavior in the classroom creating appropriate behavior strategies.
