JD Smith and Sons Hiring for Dispatch Customer Service Representative at Vaughan, ON Full Time

JD Smith is looking for a full-time Dispatch Customer Service Representative (CSR) in Vaughan (Keele & Langstaff area).

Working as part of the Dispatch team, the Dispatch CSR is responsible for data entry, routing, scheduling appointments, driver check-in, billing, and document preparation.

Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm (45 hours per week).

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan next day’s delivery activities, specifically around appointments and routing
• Complete Driver check-in (completing paperwork, data entry, questioning discrepancies)
• Process preliminary billing
• Ensure driver hours are updated as required
• Work with Maintenance department to ensure resources are effectively utilized and removed from service as required
• Maintain the TMW (Transportation Management Software) to create and update customer orders
• Process local OSDRs (overage, shortage, damage, &/or refusal)
• Communicate effectively, providing email responses and updates in a timely manner
• Ensure proper opening and closing (security) protocol for the facility

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong keyboarding skills and a working knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Highly dependable with superior attendance record
• Exceptional customer service and relationship building skills
• Sense of urgency and good problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills
• Flexibility regarding hours of work
• Experience with TruckMate Dispatch software, as well as truck driving and industry experience are definite assets
