Job Description:

As Accounts Receivable/Collections Clerk, this person will be responsible for running Aged Trial Balance reports, making collection calls and maintaining all accounts receivable related tasks. The Accounts Receivable/Collections Clerk will report to the Accounting Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

Daily:

• Track past due receivables, make collection calls and document collection activity in system
• Pursue resolution of customer disputes, short payments, etc.
• Obtain exemption certificates, follow up on sales tax short payments and make necessary adjustments
• Post payments to accounts receivables
• Customer credit research
• Set up of new customers
• Customer maintenance – address changes, salesrep changes, etc.
• Process credit card transactions as requested by the customers
• Fulfill customer requests for current and aging statement of accounts and invoice copies
• Maintenance of cash collection call report. Keep up to date.

Monthly:

• Prepare various account analyses and reconciliation (i.e. bad debt, A/R)

As needed:

• Participate in online training webinars for topics impacting department
• Back up for other accounting department functions as needed

Requirements:

• Strong accounts receivable and collections experience
• Strong computer skills with PC’s and related software, such as MS Office products
• Close attention to detail
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks
• Ability to identify and resolve problems in constructive and timely manner
• Ability to deal with customers and co-workers in a pleasant and professional manner
• Experience with project billing related AR would be a “plus”
• Current work situation with JCI office – ability to work from home at the moment
• Knowledge of billing and accounting procedures
