Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Java Simulation Developer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The selected applicant will join a group of highly technical engineers and analysts supporting medium fidelity simulation development for the nation’s Ground-Based Midcourse Defense program and will work in an agile team-oriented environment to modify and improve an existing Java-based simulation to satisfy customer analysis and program assessment objectives in a government-operated, engineering and integration lab facility.

The selected applicant will develop and architect simulation framework code, algorithm development, integration and execution with external models, and software product lifecycle support in an agile development environment.

Basic Qualifications

-Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in CS, Engineering, Physics, or Math and 5+ years of experience in Object-Oriented Programming (JAVA, C++, C#). An advanced degree is preferred.

-Position requires object-oriented design and software architecture experience, experience with team-based Software Development Tools (Git, Jira, Jenkins, etc), experience with software refactoring, debugging, and root-cause analysis, and experience with software testing and test automation.

-Must have good people skills, be an effective communicator, and have a proven ability to work both independently and in multi-disciplinary team environments.

-Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

Knowledge of, and/or experience with the following are a plus:

• Simulation development and/or simulation frameworks for DoD applications
• Software threading and data communications
• Databases and high-volume data generation and management
• DoD software development
• Experience with BMDS and/or GMD systems

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (as well as maintain) a Final Secret Clearance.
