Summary:
Expanding St. Louis based Geotechnical firm is looking to hire a mid to senior-level Geotechnical Engineer for their home office. Qualified candidate will be provided an above market salary along with full comprehensive benefits and bonus packages.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform geotechnical engineering design calculations, visual classification of soils, and creation of geotechnical engineering s.
• Performs design computations by hand and by computer software. Uses experience, education and judgement to make informed decisions. Retains knowledge and builds on previous experiences; thus, increasing capabilities in breadth and complexity.
• Understanding of ASTM procedures as they relate to geotechnical engineering.
• Ability to perform laboratory testing for direct shear, triaxial shear, unconfined compressive strength, Atterberg Limits, and others as needed.
• Organize and assign appropriate laboratory testing protocol for geotechnical soils samples.
• Organizes multiple tasks and completes them in an orderly fashion.
• Effectively communicates and coordinates with the external clients and/or internal POC
• Divisions to complete design tasks on numerous projects.
• Make formal presentations to organizations, private industry, and government agencies.
• Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments.
• Prepares fee based proposals for geotechnical work
• Keep up with relative industry standards and practices

Qualifications:

• A minimum of a B.S. Degree in an appropriate field of study from an accredited college is required.
• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam, Intern Engineer (I.E.) credentials are expected.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for client contact.
• Meet and understand critical deadlines through efficient time management and effective communication.
