The department
The North American Institutional team is a key part of the global institutional client group at Janus Henderson. Our purpose is to serve institutional investors and their advisors across the United States and Canada, including corporations, public entities, foundations, endowments, and insurance companies – all with fiduciary responsibility over large pools of investment capital. Primarily located in Denver, Colorado, our team seeks to act as trusted advisors to institutional investors and position our investment strategies to serve their objectives. We work with some of the largest and most sophisticated investors in the world.

Overview of the role
You will be responsible for administrative, analytical and strategic support for the institutional relationship management team. The role primarily partners with senior relationship executives to create and implement client activities around investment strategies, market dynamics, and competitive positioning to drive retention and accelerate revenue growth of the North American Institutional team.

Duties and responsibilities
You will:
  • Support Sr. Relationship managers in all facets of client engagement including meeting preparation, plan research, quantitative, competitive and performance analysis in partnership with institutional team members to advance and support existing client relationships (~50%)
  • Input, update, and document client interactions (including reporting, meetings, contacts, business at risk) within the CRM system (~20%)
  • Contribute to the completion and accuracy of client related deliverables, DDQs, marketing content and presentations. (~20%)
  • Contribute to the development and execution of relationship management plans and retention efforts in North America (~10%)
  • All these responsibilities require establishing and building relationships with internal teams that are essential partners to effectively achieve objectives
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Technical skills and qualifications
  • Financial services background preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to obtain SIE, Series 7 and 63 licenses within 6 months of hire

  • Strong technology skills including Excel, PowerPoint, database tools, intermediate programming, etc.

Ongoing competence in the role to be assessed, in line with applicable regulatory requirements, by:
  • Annual performance appraisal
  • Completion of all assigned compliance training
  • Annual attestation (Knowledge and Competence in-scope roles only)

Compliance requirements
At a minimum the role will require you to:
  • Place the interest of Janus Henderson’s Clients first, act in accordance with TCF (Treating Customers Fairly) principles
  • Understand and follow laws and regulations applicable for your role, seeking the help of your supervising manager or Compliance if additional guidance is required
  • Understand and abide by all Janus Henderson policies applicable to your role, and seek support/guidance of the policy owner guidance when required
  • You are ultimately accountable for your actions and responsible for seeking further information on any or all of the above as necessary.

Compensation Information
The base salary range for this position is $70,000 – $80,000. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.

Annual Bonus Opportunity: Position is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus award from the profit pool. The profit pool is funded based on Company profits. Individual bonuses are determined based on Company, department, team and individual performance.
