THE ROLE
As a Financial Controller you will be reporting directly to the CFO and leading a team of four including AP, AR and 2 x Accountants this is a great opportunity for the successful candidate to join a fantastic culture with great benefits in a growing, listed organisation in the education technology sector. The role will be the next step in your career to build or strengthen leadership capabilities and be an integral part of the continuing success of Janison and its growing Finance team.
Duties include:

• Overseeing all accounting and tax activities
• Providing hands on management and leadership to the finance team
• Team development and motivation
• Managing the group’s financial reporting obligations including ASX/ASIC reporting
• Developing and maintaining efficient and effective finance systems
• Satisfying statutory compliance and tax reporting
• Preparing financial plans and budgets
• Treasury management including banking, insurance, foreign currency management, cash flow reporting and balance sheet forecasting
• Developing appropriate corporate and tax structures for international growth
• Technical due diligence support and post-merger accounting integration for acquisitions
• Process & control review and improvement.
• Internal reporting and insightful commentary
• Implementation and adherence to changes in tax & accounting standards
• Contributing to the development and achievement of strategic goals

ABOUT YOU*
To be successful in the role you will need:

• 10+ years post-qualified experience in financial leadership roles with a relevant degree and are CA/CPA qualified (or an international equivalent)
• Accounting experience in a large, preferably multi-country, multi-entity organisation or similar experience in a successful start-up
• Listed company experience, including statutory reporting & audit experience
• Strong technical skills with a control mindset, high attention to detail and advanced MS Excel skills
• Zest, grit, and a sense of humour
