The role*
ICAS Assessments are currently developing a range of exciting new assessment products. As a result, we are looking for educational assessment writers to fill several positions as Assessment Project Officers (APOs) in the ICAS Assessments’ Test Development team. The team produce a range of online formative and summative assessments for use in educational settings within Australia and internationally. These assessments cover the full range of educational areas including aspects of literacy (such as reading, writing, spelling, and grammar and punctuation), mathematics, science and digital technologies. An APO has the opportunity to not only to work in their area of expertise but to contribute to other teams. A strong understanding of assessment principles and how schools and parents use assessment is essential.The role’s based in Sydney but we are open for remote working too.

About you
You are a creative communicator who believes that high-quality, engaging assessments can help students to reach their full potential. To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree and demonstrated primary, secondary or tertiary teaching experience as well as an understanding of student performance in your subject area at primary and/or secondary levels of schooling. You will have knowledge of current assessment and reporting issues, locally, nationally and internationally. Experience at all stages of test construction, including the use and production of innovative computer-based educational material will give you an advantage.
To succeed in this role, you will have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to negotiate effectively and build relationships. A strong customer focus is a key requirement.
