As JANA’s Technical Recruiter, you will be responsible for managing our full life-cycle recruiting processes and advising our Hiring Managers on recruitment strategies for finding ways to attract, select and retain top talent. You will help to build our technical talent pipeline in a competitive market and will be an ambassador of our culture, able to communicate what makes JANA an employer of choice. Reporting to our Director of Human Resources, you will be a key contributor to our People Operations strategy, providing generalist expertise in Human Resources functions, including talent acquisition, policies, performance management, compensation, training and supporting our employee culture initiatives.

This is currently a home-based position during the pandemic; the role will ultimately be a hybrid of in-office and work from home
Responsibilities
As the Technical Recruiter at JANA, you’ll be an expert at finding creative ways to source exceptional talent for us. You will also be involved in generalist HR responsibilities, under the direction of our Director of Human Resources.
Recruitment Responsibilities (80%):
Manage recruiting processes, posting positions, resume reviews, facilitating interviews, managing the candidate pipeline.
Collaborate with hiring managers to write job postings/ job descriptions for current openings.
Promote and coordinate internal job postings and candidate referral program.
Interview and evaluate candidates during various hiring stages.
Proactively build, nurture and engage talent communities within and outside of JANA
Know your market – where talent and skills are available, and where to find quality candidates, providing market intelligence and insight to develop sourcing and recruitment strategies
Support Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and understand the positive impact it has on company culture.
Extend and negotiate compensation packages, manage subsequent offers or contract generation.
Conduct work references and other required background checks.
Propose and implement ongoing innovations and improvements to recruitment process.
Manage independent contractor acquisition, off-shore and near-shore support, and any talent acquisition within the U.S.
HR Generalist Responsibilities (20%):
Provide generalist expertise in all Human Resources functions, including talent acquisition, policies, performance management, compensation, training, and supporting our employee culture initiatives.
Implement and administer programs to help further improve the employee onboarding experience, including training and providing support to new employees.
Support employee engagement, culture, recognition and retention programs.
Ensure compliance with provincial and federal legislation and best practices for Employment Standards, Health & Safety, Accessibility, Human Rights, and other employee-related requirements.
Provide coaching, leadership and support to staff regarding Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, questions and concerns.
Support other projects and programs in Human Resources.
Qualifications
Required:
Undergraduate degree required, preferably in Business or Human Resources
Completion of CHRP or CHRL designation
3 – 5 years of experience with technical recruitment, proven experience acquiring passive candidates
2+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a generalist capacity
Solid understanding of full lifecycle recruiting with candidate relationship management skills.
Experience with campus recruitment, coop placements, and student hiring within the Technology field
Preferred:
Experience with recruitment in the U.S., employment legislation and practices
Required Skills
Strong Talent Scout capabilities to find top talent by leveraging social networks, research tools, as well as other creative techniques, along with developed relationships with external recruiters.
Strong knowledgeable of employment law and current HR trends.
Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
Highly organized with the ability to multitask, use sound judgment and prioritize.
Proven history of meeting objectives and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Proactive, self-motivated, confident and able to work effectively with little supervision, yet know when to escalate issues.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with ADP Workforce Now (HRIS/Applicant Tracking System) is preferred.
