James Madison University Hiring for Admissions Student Host – IE at Harrisonburg, VA Full Time

General Information

The Office of Admissions is seeking Saturday Student Hosts to work in the Admissions Office to greet,check-in, direct and inform our many Saturday prospective students and families. This position is for both fall and spring semesters.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Saturday host students are responsible for our prospective families having an excellent campus visit on regular Saturday admissions information sessions and large Saturday open houses.

• Greet and direct Admissions guests. Check in Admissions guests. Provide instructions regarding the itinerary of the day.
• Respond to guest questions and appropriately refer guests to campus resources, as needed.
• Reasonably accommodate requests of guests.
• Assist Admissions Office with set up of check-in area with materials, VR stations and parking area.
• With training, to answer JMU related questions in an informed manner including knowing where to send families to receive information with training.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Applicants must be mature, responsible, hard-working, prompt,self-motivated and dependable. Hosts must have excellent customer service skills and communicate effectively with prospective JMU students and their parents. Student must have a professional demeanor and desire to represent JMU exceptionally.

Conditions of Employment

Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
