WHAT TO EXPECT
Corporate Strategy operates a flexible resourcing model, allowing individuals to work across a range of projects depending on business requirements and development needs.
Given the strategic nature of the projects, this role will provide exposure to and engagement with senior stakeholders across the business, as well as external advisors, (e.g. Big 4 accountants, lawyers, management. The role is both hands on, supporting daily operations, and strategic through creation of commercially astute financial plans.
You will support delivery of detailed financial analyses and scenarios in order to provide insights to support critical strategic decisions for board members. You will also undertake analysis to support the financial evaluation of the Company’s proposed corporate vision and strategies.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Support financial appraisal activity across corporate strategy
- Deliver financial analysis to support the evaluation of the company’s proposed corporate vision & strategies
- Support review and input into key commercial and legal agreements to ensure Jaguar Landrover’s interests are identified and protected appropriately
- Help the business understand and prepare for key economic, commercial and political events
- Work autonomously and cross-functionally, delivering answers to questions posed by the Board with clear, concise, data-driven recommendations
- Support reporting to senior leadership on project and gateway reviews, including CEO and CFO
- Engage stakeholders and external partners, representing Jaguar Landrover with professionalism and confidence
- Have a positive attitude and desire to make a difference at the heart of Jaguar Land Rover with strong leadership and a team-oriented approach to work
- Balance strategy work with team commitments by delivering a ‘Champion’ role (such as managing the team’s budget or internal communications)
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Understanding of and a curiosity for strategy and economics
- Strong commercial and financial acumen and ability to apply this widely
- Understanding of levers that can be used to drive Jaguar Landrover’s financial performance
- A willingness to proactively learn about the Jaguar and Land Rover brands, products, competitors, and positioning along with a good understanding of global business conditions for the automotive sector
- Professional qualification – part-qualified/qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or at a minimum a strong desire to pursue a professional accounting qualification
- Experience in building business cases and interpreting financial analysis
- Experience of budget and business planning processes
- Experience in investment appraisal including sensitivity/stress test analysis
- Experience of building successful relationships with external parties
- Experience of working in a strategic environment
- Driven and self-motivated, and able to proactively address challenges and manage change
- Strong project management skills and experience are essential
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
