School Description

JadeClass Education Singapore is an English language training center that provides enrichment education to bright students who plan on attending university abroad. Our students vary in age from 6-16 and are carefully screened for English level, behavior, and motivation. We focus on teaching concrete skills that will help students in their learning endeavors.

We are seeking talented presenters to deliver live online classes based on materials and instructions prepared by our development staff.

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver entertaining high-energy online classes in a two-teacher format to large groups of students (individual teachers will be paired with a partner!)
• Review materials and participate in practice sessions to ensure quality
• Complete a series of classes without absences or rescheduling

Schedule

During the summer of 2022, classes will run from the end of July (20th or 25th) until the end of August with three teaching days a week. In the fall of 2022 classes will be scheduled on Friday evenings and weekends to accommodate students’ school schedules.

• July – August: M,W,Fr 08:30 – 20:30 (UTC+8)
• September – January: Fr 18:00 – 20:30 (UTC+8), Sat & Sun 08:30 – 20:30 (UTC+8)

Course Description

Our Large Group Online Courses place two teachers with a group of 30-50 students for a course of study. Each week, the class meets online on the ClassIn (classin.com) platform for one to three 90 minute lessons. Lessons are PPT based, including interaction with students through multiple choice activities and student-submitted written work – there is no direct oral interaction with the students.

The two teachers (or ‘presenters’), deliver the class together by having a conversation about the material, with one assuming a more teacher-like role, and the other a more student-like role. This keeps the class fun and interesting for both the teachers and the students.

Compensation

• $100 per hour for each new lesson taught. The payment is for the actual teaching of the lesson. Additional time must be spent reviewing the material, preparing for and recording a demo (without students) to show that you will be able to teach the class.
• $70 per hour for each repeated lesson taught (i.e. lessons you have already taught previously)
• Remuneration is through PayPal, monthly, between the 10th and the 12th of the month.
