We have an exciting opportunity for a Roadway Drainage Engineer to support our regional team and provide leadership, technical expertise and discipline in project execution.
You’ll be working mainly from home (unless you prefer to come into our Burnaby office), with the expectation to travel for client /site /occasional team meetings.
In this role you’ll have the chance to work on exciting and engaging infrastructure projects in water and transportation in British Columbia and across Canada. As a seasoned professional, you will have the chance to mentor, learn, and work independently as a key team member. You will solve complex problems and take a broad perspective to identify innovative and resilient solutions to adapt to the climate emergency.
Project tasks could include:
Perform design and hydraulic modeling on all project aspects associated with conceptual planning, detailed engineering designs, and preparation of construction plans.
Responsible for drainage design including, but not limited to civil design calculations, computer modeling, detailing, and plan set production for roadway, drainage, water quality and utilities projects with an emphasis on hydrology and hydraulics.
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic design calculations and prepare reports, construction plans, and specifications as required by assignments.
Coordinate design development and assist in providing technical direction and mentorship to other engineers.
Provide quality control within drainage discipline to ensure completeness and accuracy of design team work.
Peer review plans, help prepare technical specifications and estimates.
Review drawings supplied by vendors, clients, and engineers and recommends necessary changes.
