Due to ongoing project success in our Transport market our geotechnical team in Melbourne have another opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer to help support the growth of the business across the NZSEA region. Reporting to the Ground Engineering Leader for Sourthern & New Zealand, the purpose of this role is to undertake geotechnical design and analysis, to manage and undertake geotechnical investigations, factual and interpretative reporting under the supervision of senior personnel in the team. Supervison and support graduate staff.

You will undertake combined field & office related activities, including site walkovers and inspections, ground investigations, supervision of local subcontractors, field monitoring and testing, lab testing, and construction phase monitoring. For significant design inputs, you will support and interface with our Global Integrated Delivery (GID) teams on Australia projects, working between GID and the ground engineering team in Melbourne.

You will enjoy working in diverse team which are focused on providing technical solutions to our client’s projects.

Key requirements for the role:

• Relevant degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology.
• Familiarity with site investigation techniques
• Geotechnical reporting skills
• Geotechnical Software (gINT, Slope/W, PLAXIS etc) and analysis/design techniques
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• General familiarity with geology of Melbourne area. A comprehensive understanding of HSEC requirements and industry approaches
