We need to recruit an Education, Skills and Training professional. We are particularly interested in hearing from people with skills and experience across the following:

• Education
• Local and National Government
• Skills or outreach agencies
• Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects and other major programmes and projects

About you:

The successful person will join a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects both locally and internationally. You will work as part of a diverse and highly skilled team of social value professionals working with alongside planners, designers, technologists and engineers, providing education, skills and training support and advice to a wide range of clients. The main purpose of the role is to support the delivery of innovative education and skills programmes across a range of projects.

The role will include:

• Day to day coordination and management of education programmes – acting as a client contact, ensuring programme delivery to timescales and budget, inputting into regular progress reporting, managing staff resourcing
• Face to face delivery with young people, in schools and on construction sites – liaison between schools and industry, communicating effectively with a range of stakeholders including pupils, educational professionals, and industry professionals while delivering inspiring educational experiences to pupils of all ages
• Development of digital and physical resources to support programmes – working with a range of different digital communication tools to produce high quality learning for pupils of all ages, linking to the Curriculum for Excellence and Education Scotland standards
• Ability to understand and translate technical roles and concepts – working with technical roles and/or concepts to help pupils understand how they fit into the World of Work and what skills are required for their future careers
• Work delivery, including work-winning – bid responses, identification and pursuit of work opportunities and management of resources
• Planning and delivery of events – safety and wellbeing planning, logistics and development of materials

Here’s What You’ll Need:

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills for a range of audiences and ages, with the ability to develop strong relationships with stakeholders
• Experience developing and delivering educational, outreach and/ or skills initiatives
• Broad understanding of educational frameworks, including the Curriculum for Excellence
• Experience of working on infrastructure projects
• The flexibility to travel to meet project demands
• A degree or equivalent qualification in an appropriate discipline. A degree in technical disciplines that align with the business such as Engineering, Planning, Environmental Science or similar, will also be considered
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• The ability to work well as part of a team
• The willingness to embrace and grasp complex subjects quickly
• A positive mindset with a willingness to embrace new ways of learning and working
• An interest in researching, understanding and applying best practice in education in relation to industry educational outreach
