How You Will Contribute**
You will serve as a strategic partner to Ahern’s fire protection Design Managers to understand the business and meet hiring volumes and headcount goals by establishing and maintaining a proactive recruitment strategy for fire protection design professionals across all Ahern business units. You will also lead Ahern’s college relations initiatives.

*Responsibilities*

• Partner with Design Managers to identify talent challenges and develop recruiting solutions to build Ahern’s fire protection design pipeline.
• Proactively source/recruit talented diverse candidates utilizing a variety of recruitment tools for career opportunities across all Ahern locations by executing tactical research, mining referrals and event leads, and instituting sourcing campaigns.
• Review applicants to evaluate if they meet the position requirements by conducting pre-screening phone interviews, making recommendations to hiring managers administering assessments, background checks, and reference verification, and participating in onsite interviews as necessary.
• Support incoming hires through the first several months of employment to ensure a strong relationship and thorough and engaging onboarding experience.
• Lead college recruiting initiatives including management and attendance of on-campus events for Ahern’s target schools, identifying which events/opportunities best align with current recruiting strategies, and fostering ongoing campus relations
• Create and main a centralized internship program/experience designed to expose and educate fire protection design interns on the industry and ensure they are appropriately trained to perform meaningful work to support their respective business units.

What You Need to Qualify

• A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or other related field and two-plus years of recruitment experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required along with a willingness to travel.

Additional Qualifications

• Recruitment experience with difficult-to-fill positions; construction industry recruiting and/or search firm experience preferred.
• Proficiency with online recruitment tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, other social media recruiting tools etc.)
• Strong computer skills (MS Teams, Outlook, Work, Excel); experience with applicant tracking software programs, specifically SuccessFactors preferred.
• Effective listening, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to plan and facilitate meetings.
• Strong attention to detail, follow-up, organization skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
• Sense of urgency and proactive desire to support hiring managers and interviewing teams.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when managing sensitive employee information.
