Summary :

The Distribution & Logistics Manager is responsible for maintaining good relationships with vendors in a way that positions Gaylord to ensure a cost-effective strategy of shipping out our custom product on time to meet and exceed customer and business needs.

This role also requires leadership to all personnel in the Shipping / Receiving and Crating department, to include three direct s.

Essential Duties :

• Coordinate with production staff and end customers to ensure on time and cost-effective delivery of goods
• Work with freight brokers and forwarders to find the most efficient and cost effective method of shipping product (LTL, FTL, premium etc.)
• Coordinate with production operations to package and cube freight for most efficient trailer utilization
• Prepare necessary documentation for international shipments and arrange appropriate freight needs
• Coordinate freight with our 3rd party Canadian manufacturing partner
• Monthly ing of shipment vs freight dollar efficiency
• Foster, communicate, and exemplify the values of ITW; act with integrity and trust, operate with simplicity, treat everyone with respect, take shared risk.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education – Experience – Other Qualifications :

• Minimum 3-5 years freight, logistics and transportation experience to include international shipping and trade compliance
• 4 year degree in business, supply chain / operations mgt. or equivalent experience
• Understanding of freight rates, schedules and tariffs
• Freight brokerage or customs broker experience a plus
• Hands on self-starter
• Excellent problem-solving and follow-thru skills
• Team player with ability to communicate at all levels including external customers
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions as related to the job.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Regular Full-time attendance is an essential function of this Management Position
