This role entails…

Working to a talent executive or manager, lead the sourcing, selection and hiring of behind camera roles creating teams of high quality, diverse talent that underpin the production of outstanding, distinctive, multi-platform and commercially successful output

• Post holders at this level will work in collaboration with editorial and production management colleagues to lead solutions to label/programme staffing needs in a fast-paced, fluid production environment ensuring all shows are resourced in a timely manner
• They will have excellent knowledge of the industry talent landscape and the ability to lead the creation and management of the future talent pipeline of high quality, diverse talent
• They will have good knowledge of the legal context in which they are working and will manage the end to end hiring process appropriate to contract type adhering to ITV’s policies and procedures
• They will be proactive in engaging with talent and diversity initiatives both internally and externally representing ITV as a great place to work
• They will be adaptable to the peaks and troughs in the production cycle and self-sufficient in managing their own administrative workload

Key responsibilities:

Talent Recruitment, Selection, Development

• Partner with editorial and production leads to understand the pipeline of shows in development and their resourcing needs offering specialist advice and expertise for the genre on talent available, best skills fit, team structure and composition
• Lead and manage the end to end hiring process adapting approach to suit circumstance/deadlines and contract type ensuring all processes adhere to ITV’s policies and procedures
• Using a variety of approaches (market research, referrals, advertising, professional networking and active sourcing tools) create pipelines of versatile, high quality, diverse talent
• Meet new external talent regularly to build market knowledge, understand their skills and capability and keep prospective candidates engaged by staying up to date with their career interests and ambition
• Lead on assessment days and/or interview process as appropriate
• Ensure all advertising and selection drives ITV’s ambition to create a culture of equality for all regardless of background and fully embraces ITV’s diversity and social partnership ambition
• Monitor market rates for key talent and liaise with production to ensure that ITV remains competitive and production costs are controlled negotiating rates/salary with freelance and contract staff as required
• Offer exit interviews to freelancers and staff towards end of each production, assess their skillset and aspiration, provide feedback and ensure they are considered for opportunities in line with any personal career progression identified

Leadership and Management

• On a project/programme specific basis, act as line manager to talent coordinators/assistants as required involving them fully in the ambition of the wider talent team function
• Engage in and champion a high performance team culture and, where required, conduct regular performance appraisals maximising opportunity for career development and ambition

• Manage a busy, unpredictable workload and embrace and encourage a flexible team approach so that peaks and troughs in production and managed in a timely manner

Processes, Procedures and Compliance

• Ensure the recruitment process for all employee and freelance hires is carried out adhering fully to ITV’s policies and procedures with regard to employment, tax and GDPR legislation thereby minimising ITV’s exposure to risk
• Use resourcing and recruitment systems appropriate to the task ensuring all entries and paperwork are completed accurately and in a timely manner and that both colleagues and candidates are keep up to date throughout the process

Outreach

• Work closely with other talent execs/managers, the ITV recruitment team & HR to ensure consistent ways of working across labels and a collaborative approach to marketing ITV as a great place to work
• Engage proactively with diversity initiatives both within ITV and externally playing a key role in ensuring our programmes teams are fully representative
• Act as label ambassador advising organisations including universities and colleges on ITV’s talent needs so that their strategies and activity are appropriate and relevant to the market
• Work collaboratively with external organisations to drive future pipelines of high quality, diverse talent engaging with prospective talent through networking events, CV clinics and mentoring

We operate with a mix of home and office-based working.
