ITT Connect and Control Technologies Hiring for Production Design Engineer Manager Full Time

Enidine (an ITT Company) designs and manufactures a broad range of high-performance energy absorption and vibration dampening solutions. Founded more than 55 years ago, Enidine serves the unique needs of customers engaged in critical applications in industries such as Aerospace, Defense, transportation, and Industry. Full-service capabilities include design, development, testing and integration.

This position will Manage high performing teams in design activities and contribute directly to the design of new products and the sustaining engineering of existing products.

Responsibilities:

Leadership:

• Technical capability to lead development of new products from concept to production working closely with sales, product and program management
• Develop and assist in making plans to meet specific product objectives.
• Provides proper guidance in the securing new intellectual properties and protecting company secrets and proprietary designs and trade secrets.
• Proven track record in effectively managing technical teams
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to organize the engineering functions to achieve objectives through effective utilization of staff

Operational Performance

• Deliver NPI, NRE and R&D program deliverables on schedule and at or below cost targets.
• Drive performance of the engineering function in accordance with the company’s objectives.
• This includes compliance with the product lifecycle management process, continuous improvement in engineering, and utilization of the engineering KPIs.

Talent Management

• Responsible for building, structuring, leading, assessing and promoting a high performing, compliant technical workforce which exceeds departmental goals and objectives including succession planning
• Development strategy for critical knowledge transfer, rotations, and exposure for all to innovation and full technical life-cycle design and development.
• Responsible for driving a high-performing culture which anticipates and exceeds customer expectations
• Develop resource plans with Human Resources and Technology VP to staff and develop existing personnel.
• Actively involved in people issues, performance management, conflict resolution, career advancement and talent selection.

Other

• Directs and contributes to the design, styling and development of new products and improvements in the current product line.
• Provide professional design guidance and technical direction to design personnel to ensure optimum professional designs, control costs, and maintain original project schedule.
• Has significant involvement in customer facing issues in the sales and product development cycle.
• Manages, and drives cost effective Capital expenditures programs to increase capabilities within the function.
• Drives and models appropriate Safety, Culture and Business behaviors as a member of Management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.S.M.E.) from a four-year college or university; five years minimum professional experience, preferably in product design and development. Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret drawings common scientific and technical journals, professional journals, financial s and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers. Ability to write s and plans that conform to a prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply physics to analyze customer applications and design product solution.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

CAD, Solid Works or other 3-D CAD systems experience, three years minimum of product design experience preferred. Must possess strong communication skills. Ability to use Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and other design software to complete design and application analysis, and manage project.
