Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Applications Manager to lead the management, optimisation, and strategic development of our business-critical applications landscape, with a strong focus on SAP systems. This is a key role responsible for ensuring stability, performance, and continuous improvement across enterprise applications while aligning IT services with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage the full lifecycle of enterprise applications, with a primary focus on SAP (e.g. SAP S/4HANA, ECC, or related modules)
• Lead application support, maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Manage third-party vendors, service providers, and system integrators
• Drive continuous improvement, system optimisation, and digital transformation initiatives
• Ensure system performance, availability, and security standards are met
• Oversee incident, problem, and change management processes
• Lead and develop a team of application specialists and analysts
• Support project delivery, including implementations, migrations, and integrations

Key Requirements

• Proven experience as an IT Applications Manager, Application Lead, or similar role
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP systems (e.g. SAP SD, MM, FI/CO, or S/4HANA)
• Solid understanding of application lifecycle management and IT service management (ITIL preferred)
• Experience managing vendors and external partners
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with system integrations, APIs, and enterprise architecture is highly desirable

Desirable Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure)
• Previous experience in large-scale transformation or ERP programmes
