Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor (Highways, Construction, Civils)

IR35 Status Determination: Inside Off Payroll Working Rules

Rate: Up to £500.00 per day (Negotiable depending on circumstances)

Length of Contract Assignment : 6 months (rolling)

Start Date: Immediate

Environment: Major Civil Engineering/ Construction Projects & Maintenance business.

Location: Birmingham, West Midlands

Our client has an extensive portfolio of capability and experience delivering all highways civil engineering requirements. Their diverse range of services include public realm improvements, junction improvements, car parks including park and ride facilities, footways, cycleways and other infrastructure for non-motorised users, carriageway construction and surfacing, drainage improvements, signalisation, road lining & carriageway studs and more.

Summary:

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will support lucrative private and local authority Highway/ Civil Infrastructure related schemes with the commercial activities in both the pre and post tender phase.

The role requires accurate and timely commercial reports and accurate insight to the bid management and senior management team whilst monitoring contracts and reporting against the appropriate commercial targets.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Experience supporting and overseeing assistant/trainee Quantity Surveyors
• Strong understanding of standard forms of contract such as NEC, FIDIC and JCT
• Understanding of financial and commercial processes
• Commercial Management and Contract Administration
• Planning & Programming
• Cost planning and pre-contract cost control
• Project/commercial management reporting
• Bills of Quantities, Schedules of Rates and Activity Schedules
• Management of interim and financial accounts
