Job summary

The purpose of the job is to manage all the activities of Accountancy related to the London School.
The position will support the School Director and the Finance Manager in accounting and reporting activities and in the month closing.

Key purpose of the role

• To post bank transactions (cash received) on a daily basis
• To regularly run reports on SAP and on Sinapto as current company’s internal platform (i.e. sanity check report for system alignment)
• To manage the Student Creditor Report to plan and report actions (to Finance Manager and Stakeholders) to collect outstanding student fees
• To have lead responsibility for accurate and timely manner replies to fee collection queries
• To support the Finance Manager with the revenues’ analysis
• To manage intercompany transfers in liaison with the Finance Manager
• To regularly perform a commission analysis reporting the findings to the Finance Manager
• To regularly check bank accounts vs reports using the Vlookup and Sumifs functions
• To manage monthly bank reconciliation including month-end closing report
• To issue a weekly cash report to be shared with HQ
• To support the Finance Manager with monthly balance sheet reconciliation
• To support the Finance Manager with monthly journal, ensuring accrual and prepayment are accurately registered
• To lead and share responsibility with the Finance Assistant to record cash
• To lead and share responsibility with the Finance Assistant for the accounts receivable
• To support the Finance Manager with VAT return
• To support the Finance Manager with the FAR depreciation
• To support the Finance Manager with the yearly audit
• To support the Finance Manager with the system accounting and process efficiency
• To undertake such other duties that are required commensurate with the role

Education & Skills

• Educated at a degree level, preferably in Accounting, Finance and Management
• ACCA or CIMA qualification is desirable but not essential
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of UK taxation and VAT
• Understanding of financial control
• Knowledge of SAP is desirable
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
