Contract Type: Permanent, Term-time only (27.5 hours per week)

We are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to join the team at Hunnyhill Primary School.
You will support the teaching and learning of pupils to help them meet their potential, giving you the opportunity of achieving great job satisfaction in an inclusive, positive learning environment.
You will be patient and reliable, be able to work well in a team which works proactively to meet each pupil’s needs and have experience of working with children in a Primary school setting – ideally within Year 5.
To support this, the ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of teaching and behaviour strategies and you will hold a TA level 2 or 3 qualification.

This role falls within the strategic partnership between the Isle of Wight Council and Hampshire County Council. The employer will be the Isle of Wight Council and employment is on Isle of Wight terms and conditions. Hampshire County Council has delivered, on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council, all of its children’s services functions and will continue to do so until 2023. The original five-year partnership arrangement under direction of the Secretary of State finished in 2018 but has been extended voluntarily by both local authorities for a further five years.
The management reporting line for this role is ultimately through Hampshire County Council Children’s Services Director/Assistant Director and managers who take operational responsibility for children’s services.
