Reporting to theTeam Leader,Disability Claims Administration, the Disability Management Process Centre Administratoris responsible for ensuring WorkSafe, LTD and STIP claims management and service delivery is carried out efficiently and effectively. Works in close association with insurance carriers, managers, employees, and third-party service providers for short or long term compensation for work-related and non-work-related injuries and disabilities. Makes appropriate contacts and utilizes appropriate resources (e.g. computer software and forms) to prepare, submit and monitor claims. Also fulfils related statistical requests and creates reports, noting any absence issues to appropriate parties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a high school diploma supplemented by additional coursework in an area such as, medical terminology or occupational health, and three (3) years recent relevant experience.
Skills And Abilities
Knowledge of Short Term Injury and Illness Plans, Long Term Disability plans
Knowledge of and ability to apply policy, procedures and legislation and provide advice and explain interpretations (LTD/STIIP/WorkSafe/Sick)
Ability to maintain confidences of personnel and health and safety matters
Technical and analytical skills to effect creative solutions to claims management problems
Demonstrated ability to operate a PC utilizing MS Office software application to produce complex tables, spreadsheets, word processing documents. Demonstrated ability to operate a HR data system
Works independently, using initiative and to make decisions within established guidelines
Demonstrated ability to work under time constraints, with multiple priorities and high volume
Communicates effectively in both verbal and written form
Interacts with others effectively, often in highly charged emotional states
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
