Island Health Hiring for Developer, Business Intelligence Information Delivery at Victoria, BC Full Time

Job Description:

The Developer, Business Intelligence (BI) Information Delivery works closely with Program Leaders and the BI team to build datasets, tools, and custom reports to support strategic planning, performance monitoring, and analysis by the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and the Executive and Management teams. The Developer plays a pivotal role in clarifying the business needs of non-technical stakeholders, translating these requirements into analytical tools, reports, and information delivery mechanisms that support effective and efficient decision support by stakeholders at many levels of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience

A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Science or related discipline and five (5) years’ experience in information management, analysis, and reporting.

Skills And Abilities

Advanced knowledge of and experience with data processing and information system tools such as IBM Cognos Business Intelligence software applications, MS Access, and MS Excel.

Advanced proficiency with web-browser related tools and desktop analytical tools including OLAP.

Project Management knowledge and experience

Excellent analytical, systems, and problem solving skills.

A good understanding and appreciation for the diversity of information in health care and for cross-department systems and processes.

Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment as a part of a small and high-functioning team

Ability to organize workload, adjust priorities, and work with minimal supervision

Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Ability to keep skill set up to date with new technologies as they are introduced to the workplace

Knowledge of healthcare operations an asset

Physical ability to perform duties of the role.
