Island Delights, Inc Hiring for Plant Manager – Confection at Seville, OH Full Time

We are a 35+year family-owned manufacturer of snack and confection products, and are looking for an experienced Plant Manager to oversee our confection operations by leading from the front – this is a hands on role. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of our food processing facility, ensuring optimal product quality and maximizing efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Is responsible for expense control, including shrink, labor and overhead cost.
• Ensure that appropriate standard operating procedures (SOP’s) are developed and maintained. Implement and Manage plant safety programs and ensures compliance with good manufacturing practice (GMP’s).
• Is responsible for our food safety program, rooted in the BRCGS Food Safety standard, to assess potential food safety risk and to ensure food safety practices and policies are being implemented and routinely audited.
• Engages in typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating and controlling.
• Oversee the hiring and training of food production personnel.
• Monitor every aspect of production to ensure compliance with established company procedures and BRCGS Food Safety standards.
• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and replacement of production equipment to ensure smooth work operations.
• Develop and promote new food products to boost sales and increase generated returns.
• Ensure the quality of products produced by developing and adhering to strict manufacturing protocols.
• Set production objectives and implement action plans for achieving set targets.
• Create work shifts to consistently meet customer needs and ensure all orders are shipped on schedule.
• Maintain accurate inventory of raw materials and processed food products.
• Ensure products and raw materials are stored properly at optimum conditions.
• Ensure all company regulations and government legislations are adhered to.
• Attend seminars, conferences, and educational programs to update job knowledge, as appropriate
• Responsible for providing direct s with timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth;
• Developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments.

Skills

• Minimum 2-3 years supervisory experience in a production environment, preferable a food manufacturing plant.
• 5 years experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred
• Previous experience as a chocolatier preferred
• Experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools
• Ability to use all Microsoft Office software, including: Word, Excel, & PowerPoint
• Organizational and leadership abilities
• Communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to schedule employees and resolve conflict

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 per year
